"What’s this?! From Nocton in Tasmania, just down the way from Domaine A in Coal River Valley. A departure here. “A bit of fun” says Steve Flamsteed. Get in early.
Faint whiffs of seaweed, iodine, then dark cherries, touch of plummy stuff. Juicy in the palate, quite bombastic, concentrated, rich, but still has a freshness and light, with this lovely bitter twang to finish. Bolder style for sure, choc-plum going on, flesh and generosity, pumice stone-like rasp to tannins. Good, bigger footprint wine."
